The Brief
As part of a Web Design Internship at Wix in New York: Design a pre-released landing page for National Book award-winning author, Ta-Nehisi Coates’ new novel, The Water Dancer—in partnership with Penguin Random House’s One World Books and Wix.com
My Process
I read the book, took notes, and immersed myself in the fantasy and imagery of a tragic but hopeful story about Hiram, a slave made free. It was my job to visually capture the essence of the story and to showcase an impactful scene on the web. I implemented a cinemagraph above the fold, and I used parallax to create a feeling of diving down below the surface of the water.
